On
Wednesday 7th June 2006 the Plant
Engineering Life cycle Conference PELC2006
was held at the Workd Forum Convention Centre (WFCC), The Hague.
PELC 2006 aimed at having fundamental
discussions on key themes and topics of process industry that need to
be resolved with a direction for the future. PELC2006 therefore was workshop
based.
The conference brings together
process industry and solution providers to create the necessary critical
mass to achieve fundamental changes. PELC is the place to be for the professionals
in our industry.
Target participation
The conference was attended by managers and experts active in designing,
engineering, constructing, operating and maintaining plants and facilities
in the Oil, Gas, Process & Power industry plant supply chain in Europe.
Solution and knowledge providers to this industry sector.
Program
The program consisted of presentations in the workshops, a spreaker's
corner and an information market. The themes for the workshops were: procurement,
design & engineering, operations & maintenance and data integration
over the supply chain.
Sponsors of PELC 2006
The conference was sponsored by 14 solution and knowledge providers presenting
their views on the themes of the workshops and engaging in the dialogue
about solutions for the future.
The PELC award was handed out to Inyergraph which company was chosen by
30 industry staff as having performed best over the past year against
the main themes of the conference. The intention of the award is to stimulate
solution providers, it should be noted that it doe not have a solid scientific
background.
USPI and industry and trade
associations in Europe are working hard to bring the European industry
together to achieve the required critical mass for fundamental decisions
and progress.
