A number of industrial companies and consortia have joined forces to wortk together in a European project called ORCHID. The aim otf the project is to bring the various communities and companies active in improving management of life cycle data in their procurement and operational processes.
The Orchid group has defined a framework for cooperation that can house a number of sub projects. The group has analysed what communities are active and what standards are used and what the priority areas for added business value are i.e.: procurement and operations & maintenance.
