Shell Dow and Dupont have made a press release about a common strategy and vision for data integration in process industry.
Companies have aligned their strategies for data integration in process industries and will actively pursue as much as possible single standards to support this.

The press release is a step in a range of discussions culminating in a data integration workshop that was held on 8,9 August 2005 at the Dupont offices in Wilmington, USA. Some 28 senior staff from industry companies and solution providers participated.
Agreement was reached on the common path forward. It was agreed to adopt ISO15926-4 TS for coomon definitions sharing. A survey is done to select a storage and exchange methodology form the currently available methodologies. You can download the agreement here
