In particular it is worthwhile mentioning the position of the STEPlib library. Up till November 1998 this library was full property of the EPISTLE consortia who have developed this library as the basis for the standardisation in process industry. As a policy the library has been in the public domain.
Since Nov 1998 the contents is merged with the POSCCaesar library. The resulting merged library has been ballotted end 2004 as ISO15926-4 as a result of which copyright in the end will be transferred to ISO. The parts of STEPlib not yet included in the ISO15926-4 will remain in the public domain on SourceForge and will be used a development for instance for best practices.
